In June 2012 BIS carried out the Nuttall Review on employee share ownership. Its purpose was to make recommendations to the government to help improve the uptake of employee ownership structures. The Review concluded, amongst other things, that the existing company law provisions on buyback of shares when an employee left the company were too onerous and could discourage employee ownership structures. more
