This week the European Commission formally objected to the pricing of music tracks for download on the UK iTunes website. This is a reaction to the fact that UK consumers pay between 15 and 20 per cent more than those in some other European countries. The statement of objections could have huge ramifications for the companies involved and, happily, huge benefits for consumers.
