Our Planning & Environment Unit can give advice on both areas, either in connection with development work or more generally.  Working closely with our preferred team of specialist surveyors, we can advise on all issues concerning the application for planning consent or with the strategic dealing of waste-related issues.

In all cases, you need to plan carefully and consider various legal regulatory issues, including:

• whether your proposed use is likely to need a formal planning consent application
• whether the proposed building works will require an application for planning consent
• whether any dispensations exist under planning law to such applications
• what further applications are needed; for instance, in relation to foul water discharges or the construction of key infrastructure, including new roads and utilities
• safeguarding against risk of environmental contamination and anticipating the full range of environmental regulations
• ensuring compliance with environmental regulations in a manner which still permits development of property
